Technical Lead
As the Technical Lead at Scissors Creek Testing, Marcel thrives on finding creative solutions to rigorous obstacles. His exceptional aptitude and technical proficiency makes him the resident expert for setting up and running highly technical and complex laboratory tests. A lifelong builder who assembled his first computer at age nine, he adapts seamlessly between engineering delicate measurement devices to large 200-ton presses, and everything in between. Outside of work, Marcel enjoys building through woodworking, custom electronics, and running.
Karleen de Hoop
Materials Lead
Karleen brings a unique, precision-focused background to her role as Materials Lead. Formerly a Hospital Pharmacy Technician, she successfully pivoted into materials science for a more hands-on career. Today, she oversees everything from aggregate analysis to field density testing, embracing the fact that every day on the job is completely different. When she isn't running tests, Karleen serves her community as a Volunteer Firefighter, plays slow-pitch, and hangs out with her dog Lexi, the team's unofficial, hi-vis-wearing mascot.
